ASA Hits Out Against Dell Ads

While Dell launches a new advertising campaign to promote its shift away from budget PCs, it gets rapped for its older ads by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).

Two printed adverts and three TV commercials were deemed misleading by the authority given that customers were unable (or rather, faced “undue difficulty”) in obtaining advertised prices and specifications.

This piece of negative PR comes in the wake of more publicised Dell fiascos, including but not exclusive to its “exploding notebook” in Japan, and lack of compensation for a specs mistake in China.
