In its effort to compete on the quality-front, Dell recently launched the Platinum Plus service for its servers and storage systems. Basically, the service consists of various productivity and support tools to aid owners of Dell enterprise systems beyond conventional tech. support.

Among Platinum Plus’ key features are the Operations Performance Benchmarking feature, the Enterprise Command Center Real-Time Tracking Window, 7×24 hardware warranty support, software troubleshooting, and emergency dispatch for critical situations.

More interesting to Dell observers would be the integration of Google Earth Pro in Dell’s Enterprise Command Center application, which allows users to map out information geographically.

Clearly, this is one of the results (just like the recent Google enterprise search deal) of the Dell-Google partnership announced earlier this year.
