Dell has announced that it will be giving away an exclusive collector’s edition X-Men XPS gaming desktop, plus an exclusive online viewing of a 7-minute preview of the new movie. But the exact model of the PC isn’t stated in their press release. So, from the stated $10,000 value of the PC, I am assuming that it is one of those XPS Renegade 600 gaming PCs that sold out a month back.
Now, I doubt that there’s a very high chance of winning the XPS, but for a shot at one of these uber-exclusive gaming PCs, I’d suggest giving Dell’s sweepstakes a try. For those who have forgotten the specs of XPS Renegade, here’s a brief recap: Quad NVIDIA® SLI graphics cards featuring four GeForce® 7900 GPUs and an Intel® Pentium® 965 Extreme Edition Dual Core processor. Of course, let’s not forget the cool paint job.
So, if you happen to be interested, visit Dell’s sweepstakes website.
Edit: Dell’s sweepstakes website confirms that the Dell XPS up for grabs is an XPS Renegade.

Ever wondered where the limited-edition US$8,000 to US$10,000 Dell XPS 600 Renegades end up? Well, given that only 31 of these babies were produced, it shouldn’t take too long to tell you.
According to Kotaku, Michael Dell has one, various review sites have three, the charity auction house has one, and one will be given away. The rest? Well, we don’t know, but I’d wager that we’ll find out a couple of years down the road when these things get old.
For those that have forgotten, the XPS 600 Renegade went on sale only two weeks ago. But that doesn’t really matter since the monster PCs sold out even before that.

The NVIDIA® Quad-SLI-equipped Dell Renegade XPS 600 revealed earlier has been released for sale today.
For those who have forgotten, the Renegade XPS 600 comes equipped with the industry’s first dedicated physics accelerator - the AGEIA PhysX processor - which will allow developers to increase the sophistication and realism of their games. Of course, the overclocked Intel® Pentium® 965 Extreme Edition processor and the four NVIDIA® graphics cards aren’t to be laughed at either.
So, how much do we have to pay for this monster? Well, the Dell Renegade XPS 600 is priced at a whopping US$9,930. But the standard XPS 600, plus the physics controller, is going at US$2,039, while the lower-end Dell XPS 400 (with the physics controller), is priced at US$1,239.

When X-bit labs recently reported that Nvidia would be working with WidowPC to release its Sting 919 notebook - a SLI-based dual-GeForce Go 7800-equipped desktop replacement, they also reminded us about the Dell Renegade XPS 600. The Dell-Nvidia powerhouse will come equipped with four graphics cards - a first for consumer-oriented personal computers (i.e. Dell-oriented)
As Engadget reported last month, the Dell Renegade XPS 600 is likely to come equipped with four of NVIDIA’s 512MB GeForce 7800 SLI graphics cards, an Intel Extreme Edition processor - factory overclocked to 4.26GHz, and 650GB of HDD space (1x 150GB 10,000 RPM, 2x 250GB 7,200 RPM).
Monstrous as it is, we’re probably still going to be seeing air-based cooling - which I’m not going to like personally. If (if) I were to ever purchase this uber-expensive piece of equipment, the first thing I’d do would be to watercool the system and the four graphics cards.
Dell has set a Spring 2006 US shipping date on this reportedly limited-edition Dell Renegade XPS 600.
