Dell/EMC CX UltraScale Storage Systems Announced

It seems I was right not to go to sleep. Just a couple of hours back, Dell published a press release announcing its new end-to-end storage solution: The Dell/EMC CX UltraScale series. Priced from around US$27,000, the Dell/EMC CX3 series provides a 4-gigabit architecture, allowing almost double the storage capacity compared to previous Dell/EMC CX series storage systems.

The new series, which includes the Dell/EMC CX3-20, CX3-40 and CX3-80, supports up to 480 drives - providing up to 239 terabytes of storage - and will come with support for Fibre Channel and iSCSI protocols, as well as EMC’s Navisphere® Manager Suite, PowerPath® software and VisualSRM software.
