The notebook that exploded in a conference in Japan recently seems to have made the big news, with even the New York Times and Dow Jones Newswires carrying some sort of story on it. But that’s not of our interest at the moment.

What is, however, is news that the destroyed notebook was replaced by Dell - a move in high contrast to its recent announcement that it would not replace the incorrectly-equipped Inspiron 640m notebooks it sold to some customers in China.

But then, I guess Dell didn’t have popular sites like the Inquirer, or security analysts recommending their customers sell their shares in Dell hounding on their PR bust-up in China.
